Review

More kind words about The Long Way Home from Kimberly Spinney from Sensual, Erotic Romance and Erotica 24/7, here.

She says “Z.A. Maxfield has created a story that is absolutely fascinating.  The characters are unique and the storyline is captivating.  This is a not to be missed romantic thriller.”

The Long Way Home is available here, at Aspen Mountain Press.

Very Kind Words

Amos Lassen has left a very kind Review on Amazon for my book Crossing Borders.  I’ve been reading Amos’s reviews of other people’s work for a long time, it was pretty exciting to find that he’d read mine.  Even more exciting that he gave it four stars and said this:

“Good erotica is not easy to write unless you are Z.A. Maxfield who gives us an excellent erotic novel with “Crossing Borders”.

And:

“Z.A. Maxfield captures the essence of the two men beautifully. The characters are wonderfully drawn and the dialog is excellent. There is a lot of sex and just as much humor. The plot is full of wit and is very sharp.”

If one were a very, very sophisticated individual one wouldn’t be tempted to go OMGSQUEE every time one sees one’s name in print. *sighs*

In other news, I just sent back final edits on Drawn Together, my next release from Loose Id, which is scheduled to come out on March tenth.  It’s true that this is yet another novel with a redhead in it.  (Are we sensing a theme here?)  As soon as I have cover art, I’ll share it along with some excerpts and maybe another contest.

This is very exciting for me. Nanette from Joyfully Reviewed has given The Long Way Home a five-star review at Amazon and assigned it the very spiffy designation

“Joyfully Recommended”

at the Joyfully Reviewed website, and you can read her very kind review, here.

Review The Long Way Home

2009
02.15

I got a really nice review from Byanca the Semi Otaku, on Amazon, and I thought I’d pass it along… I grabbed a cool quote:

Byanca writes, “I can honestly say that the character design used in this story is top notch. They’re not just characters, they’re real and relate-able. Kevin and Connor are genuine individuals, who could be anyone I know (minus the psychic powers I suppose)”

And you can read the whole review, right here as well as download the book for your kindle.  If you want to get the book in other ebook formats, you can get it here, at AMP.

St. Nachos Review

2009
02.15

I‘ve found a lovely review of St. Nacho’s by Kymberley Spinney, who gave it four stars and said:

“Z.A. Maxfield is a truly brilliant author.  St. Nacho’s was an inspirational novel that will stay with you for a long time to come.  The power of forgiveness is captivating.  I can not wait to read more of this author’s work.  If St. Nacho’s is any indication then whatever comes next will be must read, must own.”

You can read the rest of the review here…

Artistically Yours

02.13

Rainbow Reviews posted a nice review of the Artistically Yours Taste Test Anthology that I did with Torquere Press.  I really enjoyed writing about Emile, the boy ingenue (who isn’t exactly naive in this piece) and it’s a historical so it was doubly fun.

Erastes gave it a really fine review on Speak It’s Name a while back, here, and I am delighted to say that Kassa (<3) at Rainbow Reviews seemed to like it as well.  You can read her review, here.

To Celebrate

2009
02.12

To celebrate the fact that I have two new book contracts and it’s Valentine’s Day, I’ll be giving away not one, as I originally thought, but TWO print copies of the I Do Anthology, which I will buy specifically for this purpose from Amazon and SIGN.  All proceeds will go to Lambda Legal to help fight Proposition 8 in California.  (Two contracts/two books.)

To be eligible for this drawing you must be a member of my Yahoo Group (but I have no problem if you’d like to opt for Special Notices Only)  If you are a member, you will be entered automatically, and if you aren’t, what are you waiting for, JOIN UP!

I know I’ve said this but I can’t stress it enough.  This book is a great bunch of stories by authors who donated their work and MLR Press, a publishing company who edited, produced, and is distributing it as a service so that all the proceeds go directly to Lambda Legal.

I’ll be drawing names at Midnight on Valentine’s Day.  Yeah, I could be doing something romantic, but I live to serve… if I get caught up *blushes*, it might be later or the following morning.  (One can but hope.)  So run, do not walk and make sure you’re a member of my CyberCafe group by Midnight on Valentine’s Day, February 14th 2009, and Happy Valentine’s Day from me and Mine.
